How to make a UPI QR code for your shop
UPI is a payment system used in India. A UPI QR code holds your UPI ID, so customers can pay you by scanning it with their UPI app. This guide shows how to make one with QR & Barcode Toolkit.
Make your code
- Open the app and tap Generate, then choose UPI.
- Enter your UPI ID, like
name@bank. The app tells you if it looks wrong. - Add your Payee name, so customers see who they are paying.
- Leave the Amount empty if each customer pays a different amount. Fill it in only for a fixed price.
- Add a short Note if you like.
- Tap Save PNG or Share.
Before you print it: scan your own code with a UPI app and check that your name and UPI ID are right. A typo in the ID would send payments to someone else.
Check a payment QR before you pay
- Scan it in the app. It shows who you are paying and the amount before anything opens.
- Be careful with a code that is a payment request rather than a payment. The app warns you about these. You never need to approve a request to receive money.
- If the name doesn't match the shop in front of you, don't pay.
Good to know
- This makes a normal UPI payment code. The app doesn't take or hold any money.
- Keep your UPI ID private if you don't want it on printed codes.
- These checks help, but they can't guarantee a code is safe. Use your own judgment.
